North Las Vegas has a mix of housing built from the 1950s to today, and the plumbing issues change with the age and location of the home. Knowing those differences is how we diagnose correctly the first time.
Homes in Downtown North Las Vegas and the North Valley built before the 1980s often have galvanized steel water lines and cast iron drain lines. Galvanized pipe corrodes from the inside under hard water, so the outside looks fine while the bore closes up. Cast iron drains crack and lose slope over decades. We inspect these lines with a camera and replace them when cleaning is no longer a reasonable fix.
North Las Vegas gets the same hard municipal water as the rest of the Las Vegas Valley, about 16 grains per gallon. Mineral scale builds up inside pipes, water heaters, and aerators.
